The event was designed for senior City business leaders to come together to understand and be equipped for cultural witness in current times in a City context. Topics that Bishop Graham Tomlin, the author Glen Scrivener and broadcaster & economist Andrew Dilnot spoke to:
The nature of Christian witness
How Christianity shaped Western culture
The Economy from a Christian perspective
How to communicate for maximum effect
Numbers of tickets were limited to 25 so that there was also the opportunity to spend time with each other and build relationships.
The day was stimulating and inspiring.
Thanks to everyone who could join us.
We were joined by 250 guests who live or work in the City and we had the honour of hearing from Jason Roach. A medical doctor by background, Jason was the founder and senior pastor of The Bridge Church Battersea in London, as well as serving as a special advisor to the Bishop of London. He currently is the Director of Ministries at London City Mission and is a well-known author and speaker on a range of topics.
Afterwards, we had 3 wonderful seminars.
Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University and Emeritus Fellow in Mathematics and Philosophy of Science at Green Templeton College
The 54th Annual City Prayer Breakfast, held on Wednesday, 11th October 2023, was a memorable gathering that brought together over 250 attendees in person, with many more joining online.
We had the honour of hearing from Professor John Lennox, Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University and Emeritus Fellow in Mathematics and Philosophy of Science at Green Templeton College. Professor Lennox delivered a thought-provoking talk titled “A Good Return: Why Do I Work?” His insights resonated deeply with attendees, offering a stimulating and relevant perspective on the biblical principles of work, wealth, and wisdom. For those who missed it, his book, “A Good Return: Biblical Principles of Work, Wealth and Wisdom,” remains available online and might even make a thoughtful Christmas gift.
