Principal Speaker: To Be Announced in June

Highlights from the 55th City Prayer Breakfast in 2024

We were joined by 250 guests who live or work in the City and we had the honour of hearing from Jason Roach. A medical doctor by background, Jason was the founder and senior pastor of The Bridge Church Battersea in London, as well as serving as a special advisor to the Bishop of London. He currently is the Director of Ministries at London City Mission and is a well-known author and speaker on a range of topics.

Afterwards, we had 3 wonderful seminars listed below

Today’s Culture and How to Make a Difference

This workshop will be hosted by Bishop Graham Tomlin, Director of the Centre for Cultural Witness at Lambeth Palace.

We live in times when the tectonic plates of technology, visions of the future and social expectations are changing. This seminar will look at key aspects of contemporary culture, trying to understand some of the key trends of our times. It will also offer some ways in which we can offer effective witness in that culture in a manner that makes a difference.

Bring it! Faith in the Workplace

This is a panel session chaired by Kevin Bennett CEO Premier, one of City Prayer Breakfast’s partners, featuring city workers and those who run faith based groups in the City. In this workshop the panel will be sharing experiences of fellowship groups in workplaces and churches across the City and will unpack what it is to bring your faith to work, with legal guidance, lived examples and a chance to hear of opportunities which are readily available in the City.

How the gospel has shaped London and the part we can play.

When the world wants to see examples of how Jesus has changed society, London is often the first place to look. Join Ben Virgo (Christian Heritage London) and Carl Knightly (London City Mission) as we find inspiration from ordinary people who changed history by simply faithfully living out the gospel, and reflect on testimonies we’ve seen at London City Mission. We hope you will be encouraged by stories about what Jesus has done and is doing in our city.

Live Music

Live worship led by Luke Hamlyn and band. They create an experience which transcends the physical, touching the depths of your soul and leaving your heart with a renewed sense of purpose.

Networking

Connect with fellow City workers, entrepreneurs, professionals, and creative minds over breakfast. Share ideas, worship, and pray.

Stunning Venue

Hosted in a beautiful ancient City location, rich in heritage and steeped in history which provides a perfect backdrop for an unforgettable occasion.

2023 Breakfast

The 54th Annual City Prayer Breakfast, held on Wednesday, 11th October 2023, was a memorable gathering that brought together over 250 attendees in person, with many more joining online.

We had the honour of hearing from Professor John Lennox, Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University and Emeritus Fellow in Mathematics and Philosophy of Science at Green Templeton College. Professor Lennox delivered a thought-provoking talk titled “A Good Return: Why Do I Work?” His insights resonated deeply with attendees, offering a stimulating and relevant perspective on the biblical principles of work, wealth, and wisdom. For those who missed it, his book, “A Good Return: Biblical Principles of Work, Wealth and Wisdom,” remains available online and might even make a thoughtful Christmas gift.
